Knowledge Sharing Key To This Community's Success

Located at the west end of Moberly Lake, southwest of Fort. St. John, is the First Nations community of West Moberly. They are currenlty working alongside the City of Dawson Creek to become a solar community, as both share a vision of leadership in renewable energy and energy efficiency. This partnership is also an excellent opportunity for West Moberly to learn from Dawson Creek’s extensive experience in solar hot water.

Through the SolarBC Community project, training opportunities will be provided for West Moberly in four main components of training, knowledge sharing, public outreach and installation planning.

Clear plans will be developed for implementation of solar initiatives, by West Moberly, who are planning a demonstration project that will be the first solar hot water installation in the community.

There’s a solar revolution happening in BC as local governments around the province are passing resolutions to sign on to the new Solar Hot Water Regulation bylaw.
