Find an Energy Advisor
As soon as your home has been evaluated by an energy advisor, certified by Natural Resources Canada, you will be eligible for SolarBC incentives.
Having an energy assessment on your home will give you a comprehensive list of energy trouble spots, so you can make your house more energy efficient now or down the road. You won’t wonder where that draft is coming from anymore, and instead you and your family will be able to identify solutions to create a more comfortable living environment. In doing so, your energy savings will increase throughout the year, and you will also eliminate health concerns that come from drafts and air pollutants, while raising the value of your home. Livesmart BC will rebate the $150 cost of the evaluation at the end of the process.
The energy assessment will provide the following benefits and valuable information about your home:
- A detailed energy evaluation of your home carried out by a licensed energy advisor.
- A "blower door" test to find air leaks and tour of air-leakage trouble spots of the home.
- An assessment of the quality of your home’s insulation.
- An analysis of your heating and cooling equipment and their levels of efficiency.
- A printed report that shows where your energy dollars are being spent and what you can do to improve your home's energy efficiency.
- An energy efficiency rating label that shows you how energy efficient your home is compared with others in your region.
