Northern Lights College is currently offering a Solar Thermal Installer Theory course as well as a Fall Protection course in Richmond BC at Green and Clean Energy 13091 Bathgate Way on August 14 & 15, 2010.

The tuition fee is $725 for the two-day theory course and includes the exam fees as well as the textbooks. The tuition for the Fall Protection Course is $165 and is delivered on the last day of the theory course.

The Northern Lights College Solar Thermal Installer Program provides training in the installation of residential solar hot water systems. All students write the Canadian Solar Industries Association, (CanSIA), Solar Thermal Installer Exam and if successful can become certified installers under the following conditions. Plumbers, pipefitters, HVAC technicians need to pass the CanSIA exam and participate in two solar system installations, non-certified people need to pass the CanSIA exam and participate in four solar installations. Applicants also must provide proof of certification in Fall Safety/Fall Protection.
