Help Us Keep Incentives Going Beyond 2010

Write local Federal MPs and show your support for solar hot water

Two young solar champions from Grand Forks Solar Days, in May.

The Federal Government incentives available through SolarBC are due to finish at the end of this year. We are asking you to write local Federal MPs and show your support for solar hot water! In addition, the solar thermal industry in Canada has suffered over this summer with the sudden cut to the ecoEnergy retrofit program on April 1, 2010.

We encourage everyone - from installers to homeowners and solar enthusiasts to voice your concern about the future of this important industry in BC and help to bring solar to the forefront of the federal government's priority list beyond 2010.

Support from Non-CanSIA Members:

  • If you would like to write your MP you can find a list of Federal MPs in BC here.
  • For further reading, you can view information regarding the Solar Thermal industry, provided by CanSIA, here.

Support from CanSIA Members:

CanSIA has produced two decks that highlight our "ask" to the federal government - in both French and English, one for solar thermal air and one for solar thermal water. They have been reviewed carefully and it is set out in language that is useful to government and reflects that the members of CanSIA have tried to be reasonable and have attempted to tailor our requests to the government's expectations.

These decks in addition to an overview letter of how you should approach a local MP, where to find their contact information etc. can be found on the member's section of the CanSIA website.

Go to member login and click on "activities and campaigns."

If you have any questions please send them to Patrick Bateman at pbateman@cansia.ca
