Saanich Open House Brings Solar To The Public

2nd open house indicates many are considering "going solar"

Following the success of the first Saanich Open House, in June, the Solar Community recently hosted a follow-up event last Tuesday. Roughly 130 people in the community showed up for a chance to meet local Registered SolarBC installers.

"It turned out to be a great day for it," said Sustainability Coordinator Mark Boysen. "General feedback was very positive, with comments that we should do it again, which we will in the spring next year." The event also received some press this time around, with CBC radio there to cover the event.

"It was really great to see all these people interested in what is happening with solar hot water, in Saanich," said Harris. "I think all the homeowners came away with what they need to know for a solar hot water installation."
