We hope you are as excited as we are for this year’s BC Solar Days!
Communities and groups around BC will be hosting various solar events between May 28-29, and to kick-off the Solar Days events are two ribbon cutting ceremonies in Vancouver and North Vancouver on the 28th. Both are free public events that will be followed with tours solar hot water installations.Vancouver Event Details
Where: The Brockton Oval, in Stanley Park
When: Friday, May 28th 2:30pm
Join David Ramslie, Manager of the Sustainable Development Program with the City of Vancouver, along with Park Board Chair Aaron Jasper and Supervisor of Maintenance Management Ian Harvey for a ribbon cutting and tour of the solar hot water installation at the Brockton Oval. The Brockton installation is a project of the Vancouver Greenest City Action Team’s Greenest City Initiative. The initiative was launched by the city in 2009, with the goal is to make Vancouver the greenest city in the world by 2020. A tour of the installation will follow the ceremony.

After this event there will be a shuttle ride available to North Vancouver for the Northlands Golf Course ribbon cutting ceremony with District of North Vancouver mayor Richard Walton and tour of the installation. Stay for a BBQ and other fun solar activities, including an interactive LIDAR data tool for public to gain understanding of the solar potential on their homes.

Open House Tours
Don't forget to check out the Solar Tours Google Map for the 40 open house tours happening around the province. Homeowners with solar hot water systems on their homes are opening their doors between May 28-30. Bring your friends and family on a solar tour and walk or cycle to homes in your neighbourhood. At all stops you’ll find a Solar Tour Site lawn sign, and fun SolarBC giveaways.
