Kelowna Winery One Stop On Solar Days Open House Tours

Registered Installers Swiss Solar Tech will also be at the open house, to provide information about solar hot water installs.

St Hubertus Estate Winery is pleased to announce the completion of its solar water heating system as will be opening its doors to the public on May 29th from 11am – 3pm for an open house during the Solar Days Open House Tours, taking place across the province.

The Winery, located in the north Okanagan Valley, has been in the family since 1984, and is currently a sprawling 76 acres of vineyards that produces the St Hubertus and Oak Bay label wine. Stop by during their open house in May for a wine tasting and have a look at the solar hot water systems installed. There will also be free SolarBC giveaways and brochures available on site.

According to Leo Gebert, who helps to run the Gebert Family business – which prides itself on sustainable farming practices – their goals with the four independent systems are to produce hot water for the winery and private buildings on the property. The Gebert household was also outfitted with solar hot water, taking advantage of the SolarBC grant for residential homes.

There are currently 20 residential homes on the Solar Days Open House Tour, running from May 28 - 29, during the BC Solar Days. To find out more about events happening in your community visit our Solar Days webpage.
